Catering to couples, Hotel Escondido was designed as an escape… escape your worries, relax and restore your soul. While it comes with a premium, for those seeking a refreshing vacation… this is the place. 16 individual cabanas with palm roofs located right on the beach with doors that open on either side to allow the breeze to blow through and provide an ocean view from bed. The rooms are minimalist but luxurious, with very comfortable beds. Each has a private veranda or patio with sun loungers, hammock and a plunge pool, and views looking right out to the ocean. Perfect place to relax after sunset and look at the stars. The doors also open on either side to allow the breeze to blow through and provide an ocean view from bed. The only drawback is the occasional gecko that will explore the room as it is an open design.

You are located less than a 10-20 minute walk to three main beaches in Puerto Escondido, that includes Playa Zicatela, Carrizalillo and Puerto Angelito. The architecture is unique, and the rooms are perfect which is driven by the passion of the hotel owners. Enjoy free breakfast before starting your day with exploring the area and feast on the highly acclaimed culinary expertise of the host. Cabane Container is easily one of the highest rated places to stay in Puerto Escondido.

After a continental breakfast and a short 10 minute walk from the hotel, you are surrounded by shops and eateries to enjoy all day. Catering to couples this reasonably priced hotel boasts a pleasant staff and clean, comfortable and air-conditioned rooms. The rooms with kitchens in them were lacking tableware and utensils to take advantage of it. The rooftop restaurant and terrace are a nice location to enjoy cocktails to watch the sunset or the stars and sitting by the poolside refreshing yourself with a margarita is always a favorite pastime.

Paraiso (paradise) Escondido presents a Spanish colonial feel from old Mexico thanks to its terra-cotta and white-trim architecture ... Guests truly enjoy the unique character of the hotel and being built on a quiet road it provides a sense of tranquility and yet walking distance to the beach, all the activities and restaurants.
4.2 Stars for $50 - $220
This is an older, clean and comfortable hotel that is located just across from the beach and has a very nice pool area. Being so close to the beach the noise from the nightlife can last through the evening especially during the busy season. The owners of the hotel changed in recent years and with it the nostalgic feeling and service.

Bungalow Santa Cruz, has a perfect location. Seconds away from Zicatela Beach with a gorgeous white-sand beach with large waves, restaurants, grocery store and ATMs all within walking distance. The hotel restaurant maintains a high standard for flavor, quality and quantity at a fair price. However, if you are getting a bungalow the intent is to have a functioning kitchen and more than one customer has complained of a lack of utensils and tableware like plates and glasses. The front desk has not received high marks for friendliness although it only takes a bad day to ruin a first impression for hotel guests. Knowing the hotel is in a prime location that comes with all the traffic and night life noises and you are aware of the little issues the stay has been enjoyed by most guests.
3.6 Stars for $100
Located by Zicatela beach you are surrounded by activities and restaurants. The rooms are clean and ready for guests with staff that are helpful and friendly. The area around Zicatela beach is filled with traffic and night life noise so it is probably not the location for anyone seeking peace and quiet and it caters to the younger and adventurous clientele. At an affordable price and its central location, it certainly has no shortage of clients.
3.4 Stars for $50 - $100
Located 25 minutes outside of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, you are isolated from any activity besides lounging, eating and drinking. The restaurant has poor to mediocre reviews that range from cold food to food without flavor that takes a long time to produce which is sad because the fun and interesting town of Puerto Escondido has lots of activities and great places to eat. The consensus is that the value is poor based on the from town, not having the ability to walk or take a quick cab ride to an activity, and generally the management is poor. If you go just be prepared for what you are going to get. $125-$250
